Need to make a claim for warranty? While it's most likely you'll need to bring your computer in to us, it's best to give us a call first, just in case it's a problem that can be fixed over the phone.

Service/Labour Warranty
Just Bytes takes no responsibility for faults that may arise in products not covered by Just Bytes' warranty. The preservation of data is the responsibility of the customer, and Just Bytes takes no responsibility for data lost during service. Software and/or configuration errors are strictly not covered by any warranty and the repair of these errors will incur a fee. A No Fault Found service fee will apply for labour during diagnosis and testing in all cases where no equipment fault is found. Standard labour rates will apply where non-warrantable equipment is at fault, including dust, heat, and related issues. In order to claim any service under warranty, the customer's original invoice MUST be presented - warranty will not be granted without a valid invoice.
Just Bytes will warrant any labour carried out for a period of 6-months from the date of completion (as on the service request form and/or the Invoice). Where additional hardware is found to be faulty, hardware shall not be covered under any warranty (unless otherwise covered - i.e. new product warranty). In addition, standard warranty terms apply - dust, heat & related issues shall not be covered under any warranty.
New System Warranty
All new Just Bytes computer systems, sold on or after the 17th of March 2008, are covered by a 3-year Return To Base warranty. For this warranty, a "Computer System" is defined as a complete working system - and must include at minimum: Motherboard, Case, Power Supply, Processor, RAM, Hard Disk Drive and an installed and functioning Operating System. Systems purchased before the 17th of March 2008 are covered by a 2-year Return To Base warranty.
All external peripherals - such as Keyboards & Mice, Monitors, Printers, etc - are covered by Manufacturers warranty only after the first 12 months.
Labour is covered under warranty for the first 2-Years only on all systems, with parts only covered for the 3rd year of warranty on applicable systems.
The following will not be covered under any Just Bytes warranty:
- Software - Including but not limited to: Operating System, applications, configurations, problems cuased by viruses, malware, spyware, etc;
- Dust, heat & issues caused by these;
- Damage caused by the customer, including but not limited to custom modifications to the system.
- Damage and faults caused by Lightning Strikes and/or Power Surges. Just Bytes requires the use of Surge Protectors to prevent these faults - should your computer not be protected by a quality surge protector (such as the Belkin SurgeMaster range), we reserve the right to void your warranty should these fauts occur.
Please note that opening the case will reduce your warranty to our Limited Warranty. Any repairs done by anyone other than Just Bytes will also reduce your warranty to our Limited Warranty. Upgrades and custom modifications can be performed by Just Bytes for a nominal fee - please contact us for more information.
Limited Warranty Terms
The Just Bytes Limited Warranty applies to any system opened by the customer, or anyone outside of Just Bytes, including any other repairer. The Limited Warranty is valid for 12 Months from the customers invoice date. Exclusions also apply as outlined in the full warranty terms above. Limited warranty customers will not recieve priority service, and no free technical support will be provided.
Technical Support
Free technical support is provided with all new Just Bytes computers.This is available via our 1300 number (1300 790 840 or 02 4927 6528 from mobiles), website (www.justbytes.net.au) or email (support@justbytes.net.au). Free support is available for the warranty period (up to 3 years where applicable).
Just Bytes will endeavour to resolve any issues brought to our attention via the support methods listed above, however no guarantee or warranty is provided for any support given.
Just Bytes may not provide technical support for the following, at the discretion of the technician:
- Internet Connections - Your ISP should be contacted for any internet-related issues.
- Connecting/Installing any hardware or software purchased elsewhere.
- Any 3rd Party Hardware/Software not installed or configured by Just Bytes.
General Sales Warranty (Over-The-Counter)
Items sold over-the-counter are covered by a minimum 12-months manufacturers warranty. Just Bytes may replace faulty goods on-the-spot at Just Bytes' discretion. Where replacement items are not available, or at Just Bytes' discretion, faulty hardware must be returned to the manufacturer/supplier and a replacement part returned to Just Bytes. Just Bytes is not liable for any loss of income, data, etc as a result of delays caused by warranty replacements. Where a replacement is not available (due to End-Of-Life, etc) a suitable alternative arrangement will be decided upon by Just Bytes.
Just Bytes reserves the right to modify these warranty statements at any time without notice. New/updated warranty statements will become effective immediately, and applicable to all new and existing warranties to the extent permissable by law.
